BCU paddlepower scheme for under 16's Monday night's at the pool from 8.00 - 9.20pm
This is being run as a 12 week course.
The next course will start on September 13th 2010
Participants must be BCC members (junior membership costs £12 per year) and there is a one-off charge of £30 which must be paid at the start of the course. This covers pool fees for the full 12 week course (a saving of £6) and will speed up getting into the pool at the start of the sessions so that the kids get the full coaching time.
There will be a maximum of 6 places on each course and places will be allocated on a first come basis. If you want to take part please email Cat and your name will be put on the list.

Weekend of 13th & 14th November North Wales Training
Weekend (12 places only) The course is aimed at paddlers that want a formal qualification to lead their peers in a white water grade 2/3 environment. The training notes state that candidates for this course should be entirely comfortable on grade 2 water and be able to show evidence of having paddled sections of grade 3 in a competent manner. Examples of grade 2/3 would include Barle, Dart loop and lower Tryweryn. For details of the 4* award follow this link to the BCU website. There are 12 places and the club proposes to subsidise the course to reduce the cost to members. In most cases we would expect that club membership has been held for at least one year. The cost of the course after subsidy will be posted here shortly. In order to allocate places fairly we would like interested club members to give a brief description of why they should be given a place. This is not to cause lots of work and if members would prefer to talk about this rather than write it down then please contact Phil.
1. What is your current paddling level and what rivers have you paddled? 2. Have you any experience of leading on a river or acting as a second? 3. Why should the club support you – what have you done for the club and what are you willing to do for the club? Please
send your responses to Phil.
Accommodation Accommodation will be at Tyddyn Bychan bunkhouse near Corwen. Cost of accommodation is £32 per person for both nights including full cooked breakfast - Bedding provided Dinner may also be available, this will be confirmed nearer the time. We have booked 24 beds for the Friday night and 30 for the Saturday night A deposit is required to book your place see who's going Any questions please contact Phil or one of the committee.
