Jack
Petchy Foundation
Bromley
Canoe Club are members of the Jack Petchey Foundation Scheme, at Bronze
level. For further information visit the Jack
Petchy Foundation website.
This
means that 3 times a year we ask young club members, adult club members
and parents to nominate young people for a Bronze Award.
The winner receives a certificate, a badge and a cheque for £200
- which they give to Bromley Canoe Club. The Winning Young Person then
nominates what they would like the money to be spent on.

Harley
has come on leaps and bounds in his kayaking ability. He sucessfully
competed in the trials for the London Youth Games team and narrowly
missed out representing the borough, although was reserve for both
sprint and slalom. Harley has attended a number of weekend trips
- paddling on increasing difficult standards of water. He is always
willing to help out with the club and has become a good influence
on the younger club members |

his enthusiasm and commitment to entering the London Youth Games
in both the kayak sprint and kayak slalom events. Despite only having
been in a sprint specific boat 3 times in advance, he was determined
to enter to ensure that the club & borough had a competitor
in this event, and actually made it through to the finals of the
event |

Since Bromley Canoe Club joined the scheme we have bought with our awards:
2 new Fox Slalom boats
1 new Lightening sprint boat
2 trips to the Nene Whitewater Centre in Northhampton
2 small buoyancy aids and 2 spray decks to be used with club youth boats
the new Lee Valley Legacy Whitewater Course has been booked is for Sep
17th
Bromley Canoe Club enjoy being linked to the Jack Petchey Foundation
and would like to thank them for helping them to recognise the achievements
of the the younger members
