Where We Meet

Bromley Canoe Club AGM and Social Evening

6:30 pm Saturday 25th February 2012

Greenacres, 3rd West Wickham Scout Group, Tiepigs Lane, Bromley BR2 7HJ

(between Coney Hall Football Club and the railway bridge)

In accordance with the club’s constitution you are warmly invited to attend the Annual General Meeting to be held at 6:30pm on Saturday 25th February 2012. All are welcome but please note that only club members can vote on motions and resolutions. Family memberships entitle members to one vote per family.

In order to save paper, a letter will only be posted to those members for whom we have no email address.

Any motions that are to be raised at the AGM should be received by Dave Birkinshaw in writing (email will be acceptable) by Monday 20th February at the latest. Only motions received before this date will be eligible for binding votes at the meeting. Other items will only be discussed through Any Other Business.

The AGM includes the process of dissolution of the current committee and the voting in of a new one for the coming year. It also includes voting for a new Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary and we would encourage anyone who wishes to stand to do so. The following must be true of anyone who wishes to stand:

Chairman - Club member for a minimum of 2 years
Treasurer – Club member for a minimum of 2 years AND on the committee for a minimum of 1 year
Secretary – Club member for a minimum of 2 years

Committee Members - Club member and over 17 years of age

Agendas and Minutes are available by emailing
dave@bromley... (see contacts page for full email address) and at the AGM.

READ ON FOR DETAILS OF THE SOCIAL EVENING

Join us for some paddling based fun including:

• Kayak racing on our ERGO machines
• Talks: including trips to The Americas, Nepal, and a review of the BCC year (Lea Valley, Wales, Dartmoor & Exmoor, The Tees and one possible surprise talk)
• Phil’s (now infamous) quiz – can anyone remember what a gunwale is?

A curry will be available at a cost of £5 per person. You must pay by Monday 20th so the correct number can be catered for. There will be a vegetarian option. We will be unable to provide food on the night for those who haven’t paid. If you are not able to get to the pool in the next few weeks, please email Dave if you want food.

Thank you for continuing to support your club and the Committee look forward to seeing you all on 25th February.

Yours Sincerely

David Birkinshaw
